Soar like an Eagle!

While reading this morning, this passage stood out to me and I thought I would share. One of Satan's favorite employees is the "switchman." He likes nothing better than to sidetrack one of God's express trains, sent on some blessed mission and filled with the fire of a holy purpose. Something will come up in the pathway of an earnest soul, to attract its attention, and occupy its strength and thought. Sometimes it is a little irritation and provocation. Sometimes it is some petty grievance we stop to pursue or adjust. Very often, and before we are aware of it , we are absorbed in a lot of distracting cares and interests that quite turn us aside from the great purpose of our life. We may not do much harm, but we have missed our connection. We have gotten off the main line. Let these things alone. Let distractions come and go, but press forward steadily and irresistibly with your God-given task. The eagle flying in the upper air pays but little

Happy Thanksgiving

Image
There are many things I could blog about right now but the one thing that is on my mind is Thanksgiving!! I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!!! It is my favorite holiday! Are you surprised Christmas isn't my favorite? I love Christmas too, but I don't like all the stress that comes with it. As a child, it is the best, but unfortunately as an adult reality sets in and it isn't quite as fun anymore. Anyhow enough grumbling, onto Thanksgiving. Everything about Thanksgiving makes me happy, the food, the family, the food, the friends I am thankful for, the food, the weather, the food, going to Mom's, the food, no gifts to buy, the food, the leftovers, the food, shopping the day after, the food, the decorations(earth tones are my favorite colors), the food, apple hill, the food! So you see why I love it so much. There are so many things to be thankful for! Pumpkin pie, turkey, stuffing, olives, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, homemade yeast rolls, ham, sweet potatoes with marsh

An anniversary, a birthday and a birth defect??

Image
You are probably wondering what that is all about. Right?? Well, on Wednesday, Ashley came running into the house crying, not screaming, just crying. She had tripped over Zoey's (our dog) leash and scraped her arm. Not a big deal, no blood. However, on closer examination, I noticed a lump on her elbow, as if her arm was out of socket. Strange, I never noticed that before and she wasn't screaming out in pain. So, being the worrisome mom that I am, I called the doctor. Of course they said bring her in. So off to Kaiser we go, first to be seen by a doctor(who wasn't even going to do an x-ray until I persisted), then to Radiology for x-rays, back to the same doctor who was surprised there was actually a reason to do the x-ray. She then told me that her radius was not in the right place and it could be the result of an injury prior to that day or from birth(which would be considered a birth defect). She told me she was going to send a referral to Orthopedics. Great, maybe someon

BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!

That is exactly how I feel about my blog right now! Nothing exciting is happening. At least if there is something going on I am blind to it. I have no profound thoughts (but then again, do I ever?), no new news, I haven't been anywhere unusual, my kids are normal (for the time being), and since the last ordeal with the mysterious person posting not so kind comments on my blog, I feel as though my bubble has been burst. Back to reality! I am a little nervous posting pictures of my kids, telling cute/funny stories, or just being free to post what is on my mind. I can't seem to figure out how to block my blog from people like that without blocking out others who are just curious, or friends from the past who happen upon my blog. I love having my blog, it is a little outlet for me. Maybe it is being a proud mommy or maybe it is a way to connect with other mommies, and relating to each other. Has this happened to anyone else? Why do I feel that a bit of freedom has been taken from m

I found this on Alli Scott's blog and this one describes me a whole lot more than a piece of cake!! (Thanks Alli, I now have direction in my life) Your Career Type: Social You are helpful, friendly, and trustworthy. Your talents lie in teaching, nursing, giving information, and solving social problems. You would make an excellent: Counselor - Dental Hygienist - Librarian Nurse - Parole Officer - Personal Trainer Physical Therapist - Social Worker - Teacher The worst career options for your are realistic careers, like truck driver or farmer. Tag you're it!!! I guess!

Jessica tagged me, so here goes nothing!! Six unspectacular things about me: 1. I have lived in California my entire life. 2. I went to modeling school as a child 3. I hated my ears my whole life 4. I'd rather read sometimes than sleep 5. I can't sing very well, but I love to sing 6. I have a birthmark shaped like Florida on my leg! (now aren't you impressed, what is this for anyhow??) Rules and regulations: 1. link the person who tagged you 2. mention the rules on your blog 3. list 6 unspectacular things about you 4. tag 6 other bloggers I'm tagging: Sarah H., Yvonne, Tara, Carly, Aunt Dani, Von de Leigh!

Life in the Real World!

Let me preface everything I am about to say by saying, I have the most wonderful, intelligent, beautiful, talented children ever created! (now I've lost you because your thinking, she's wrong, I do, your right, you do too!) So why is it that they can also be the complete opposite(at times)? Why do I have to tell the same child everyday to not bring a blanket to the table. I tell them "Please get dressed before you come eat." Apparently, it is much easier to wrap oneself in a blanket and then have to fish your hands out to eat! Why does my child who can remember things from infancy(seems that way anyhow) have to be reminded every morning to "Please brush your teeth"? Why does my child, who can't stand for anyone to touch their belongings, think it is ok for them to get into my purse everyday and chew my gum, use my chapstick, and eat any mints that might be left from the previous days' rampage? How is it that my child, who thinks the world is their ca

Happy 3rd Birthday Ashley Jean!!

Image
Today we celebrated Ashley's 3rd year on earth! I like to refer to her as my caboose. She is the baby, and will always be the baby(just in case anyone wonders, there will not be any more additions to this family)! Ashley is a piece of work! I suppose being the baby of the family has a lot to do with that. She is very bright and quite talkative, sometimes more than I wish. She is generally very happy, as long as things seem to be going her way. She wants whatever Elle has(always) and thinks she is the same age as Elle. She thinks she is a princess(no, really) and wants to dress appropriately. I have to convince her that wearing a slip(a big, fluffy slip) is not what princesses wear in public. Ashley is friendly towards almost everyone she meets, I say almost because there has been an occasion or two where she wouldn't talk to someone. Most of all, Ashley is lovable, huggable and, kissable! We love you bunches Ashley Jean!!!

An apple a day keeps the Dentist away!

Image
Friday was Ashley's first trip to the dentist. She has been anxiously awaiting this appointment. She saw Levi, Myles, and Elle climb into the big chair that can move and she wanted her turn. She even told a lady at the store the day before "I'm going to the dentist tonight!" Levi and I also had appointments scheduled, and they took us first. So poor Ashley had to wait until we were done to get into "the big chair". Finally the moment arrived and she jumped into that chair and sat right down, and did everything the assistant and the doctor told her to do. Since all the appointments took so long, they opted not to take "pictures" this time around. Ashley was beginning to get restless. Here are a few pics of Ashley with the dental assistant and her dentist Dr. Laurie La Dow!

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig!!!

Image
We arrived home late Sunday night after what seemed like a year away from home. (Actually it was a little over three weeks.) We left on the 7th of August at about 4 pm and drove to Grants Pass. We stayed the night there, getting up the next morning and continuing on to Portland. We got to Portland about 3pm, spent the evening hanging out at my brother's house and getting ready for the next day. Saturday the 9th, we celebrated my littlest nephew, Judah Milo Carlson's first birthday. His actual birthday is the 14th but for sake of family and friends we had the party that Saturday. My brother's church family came and then some of his family and some of my sister in laws family came. We bar-b-qued and played games, but mostly just talked. Then the next day was church. We went to church with them, they go to the Gleason's church in Oregon City. They are very sweet people. I love Sis. Gleason, she always has the kindest words to say. OK, continuing on, Monday was just a play

Summer Recap!!

Image
Well summer is drawing to a close very quickly. We have had a lot of fun. The boys and I went to the Capitol with the Boldings. The girls stayed with Melissa and had fun playing with her kids. The girls and I went to Fairytale Town. Ashley and I met her Kindermusik class at the zoo, and enjoyed some one on one time. We have gone on a couple picnics and bike rides. Faith and Caleb came over and they all became Indians for a night. I wish I could show the video from that night, but I haven't figured that out yet. But summer isn't completely over, if fact the best part is yet to come! In preparation for our next adventure, I went yesterday morning and had my oil changed and my tires rotated. While waiting for my tires to be done and I went into a little kids boutique. On the wall were some signs. One of the signs said My prince did come, I call him "Daddy". I thought that was cute. But the best and truest was the one that said "Home is where my mom is". And tha

Happy Birthday To You! There are so many wonderful words to describe you, Sis Young, that I would be here all day. You are an incredible example of what a Godly woman, wife and mother is. You live it and show us how it can be done. Nothing is too hard for you. You lead by example and show us that we are capable of handling whatever comes our way, with God's help of course. Thank you for loving my family and I, we are truly blessed to be under your leadership. I hope you have a fabulous birthday, and may all your wishes come true! (Like eating peanut butter and banana yogurt, with peanut butter topping and bananas at Tops!)

It's a Womans world :)

This is not my typical post, but I needed a good laugh. A friend sent me an email and it said "every woman should read" I thought I would share. Some of you may have seen these before. (disclaimer: these are only jokes, this doesn't happen in real life, husbands and wives always get along and are perfectly sweet to one another) MARRIAGE SEMINAR While attending a Marriage Seminar dealing with communication, Joe and his wife Ann listened to the instructor, 'It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes.' He addressed the man, 'Can you name your wife's favorite flower?' Joe leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, 'It's Pillsbury, isn't it? __________________________________________________________________________ WIFE VS. HUSBAND A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede th

I will be still, and I will behold in my dwelling place (Isa. 18:4 RV)

There is a devotional book I read called Devotions for Evening and Morning. I know many people have this book. I love it! It seems to speak to me when I am going through a situation. Many times it is right on target for my need. I am going to post a portion of yesterday's devotion, it seemed to jump from the pages and I felt that there may be others that could benefit from it as well. Assyria was marching against Ethiopia, the people of which are described as tall and smooth. And as the armies advance, God makes no effort to arrest them; it seems as though they would be allowed to work their will. He is still watching them from His dwelling place, the sun still shines on them; but before the harvest, the whole proud army of Assyria is smitten as easily as when sprigs are cut off by the pruning hook of the husbandman. Is not this a marvelous conception of God - being still and watching? His stillness is not acquiescence. His silence is not consent. He is only bidding His time,

Ok, now here is Ron Jon....

Image
The first picture is Ronnie when he is probably about one. I'm not sure, because the back of the picture doesn't say. It does say, however, that he got caught trying to get into the cupboard where the cookies were kept! This next picture is Ronnie when he was 7 years old. I think Levi and Myles both resemble him in this picture, Levi in looks but Myles in coloring.

So which one of my kids look like me???

Image
My friend, Yvonne, told me it was my turn to post baby pics. OK, so here it goes, this one is me at 6 months old. When I can figure out what is going on with my pictures, I have two more I will post! ok, here is one of me at 5 with my brother, Like the Farrah Fawcett hair do? My mom just got back in church so therefore I still had bangs. Now here is one of me at ten, with a Gunny Sax dress on that my mom made! I think I wore this one every other Sunday night! The hair is the best though, can't you tell I am pentecostal?

Just Age Gracefully!

Image
George Carlin's Views on Aging Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions. 'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead. 'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . YOU BECOME 21 YESSSS!!! But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed? You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put o

Do we limit God?

Reading in Psalms 78, Asaph is retelling the story of the countless miracles God performed for the Children of Israel. How that the sea was divided, the plagues brought on Egypt, manna from heaven, he rained flesh upon them as dust...so they did eat, cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance. Through all this they continued to turn their backs on Him, Ps. 78: "Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel." How many times, we, in our daily lives, limit God? I thought about this for awhile this morning and realized that I can pray and seek God, and ask for a miracle, but if I don't completely trust and believe God can do it, I am limiting Him. Think about how much greater the Children of Israel could have been if they took all restraints off of God and was fully obedient to Him. In Ps. 78:70 it says "He chose David also his servant.." God will find someone with a willing heart, to serve him and do his will.

Beautiful at 94!

Today is Great Nanny's 94th birthday! For those of you who do not know her, she is Sis. Sargent's(aka Nana Sargent)mother. We want to wish you a very Happy Birthday Great Nanny, we love you! Here are are a couple pictures we took at church tonight, I wanted to post this earlier today, but I didn't have the pictures. So we are a wee bit late!!

Daddy, Get your gun ready!

Image
Ok, I thought this was a great picture of my posing princess, but a little scary! I think we are in trouble!

I know you can, because "He Can."

There is a simple saying I found a few years back when I was still out in the working world. (Not that I don't work now, but I stay at home and believe me, there is plenty to do.) But this little quote says "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars." Always aim higher, take the higher road in life, try to do something out of reach, because even if you don't quite make that goal, you are still higher than you were before. I believe we are all capable of doing anything, and with God all things are possible (Mk 10:27). So today, when you feel like you can't, try anyway, here are some things you might say, and where you can find God's response. Not all of these have to do with trying, but no matter what you are feeling or what your current situation is, I know you can make it through with God's help. You say: 'It's impossible' God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27) You say: 'I'm too tired' God says:

Happy Birthday Levi and Myles!!!!

Image
Let brotherly love continue. Heb. 13:1 Nine years ago today, we were blessed with a bouncing, baby boy. Levi Joel Marquez was born early in the morning on June 25th, 1999. What a joy it was! Then exactly two years later, Myles Jonathan Marquez came and joined his big brother on June 25th, 2001. I remember Levi coming with Javawn to the hospital that afternoon, when he got to the room he was so excited to see his little brother, and said "Myles is my birthday present." Today we celebrate you, Levi and you, Myles! What a blessing you have been to us! You are adorable and precious. Ok, enough sissy words, You are AWESOME!!! We love you so much and are looking forward to this year(and many to come). You are both growing so quickly, but most importantly, you are both growing in your relationship with Jesus. Keep him first, and everything else will go into place as it should! With all our love, Daddy, Mommy, Elle, and Ashley Jean

Do you remember? (In addition to my last post)

Just out of curiosity, who remembers the day/night they got the Holy Ghost? I was, as I mentioned before, six years old. I don't remember the exact date, though I think it was sometime in May. My great-grandma, Oma Ellis, was preaching a sectional Ladies Day at our church. At altar call I went up with my mom and before I knew it, I was crying and speaking in tongues. I remember the feeling, the people(including my mom) who prayed with me, and how my great-grandma came down from the platform and prayed for me too. So tell me, what do you remember?

The Sequel!!! Acts continued......

We had another fabulous service at the Rock church tonight. There is never a dull service, and tonight was no exception. Worship service was great, then we were blessed by the band Niemann Ave. Might I say, they were fantastic! I am not being biased either, even though the awesome drummer in the band also happens to be my cousin! (Musical talent flows in our family like water) Nate French did an incredible song about Calvary from Pilate's point of view, then the band did a song they wrote called "Mysterious Maker." They did a wonderful job, and I felt the anointing in their song. It makes a difference, regardless of music styles, when you sing or play in the Holy Ghost. With that in mind, we now go into the preaching. Pastor Young(who also happens to be one my favorite preachers, along with Bishop) preached about the Holy Ghost. Now this wasn't your typical "You need the Holy Ghost" message. This was "Do you realized who is dwelling in your heart and li

Monkey see, Monkey do....

Monkey was a handful at the eye doctor too! And by monkey, I mean Ashley Jean! I decided to make eye appointments for all 4 of my kids, on the same day. Thinking that if they saw each other getting their eyes examined, it would be easier for them. Well so much for doing my own thinking! First I must say, that I am a stickler about such things as the doctor visits, (i.e. well baby visits, annual shots etc)and the check-ups at the dentist every 6 months. But I forgot all about how important eye health is. Being nearsighted myself since I was 15, you would think I would be on top of this. So anyhow, thankfully I didn't wait too long, they are all healthy. But the routine appointment turned into a comedy act with a solo comedian! Levi, Myles, and Elle did very well with their exam, they were very polite and did exactly as they were told. Well then we got to Ashley. Keep in mind Ashley is only 2 but talks very well, so they begin her test with some letters(sorry folks, but I haven't

Frogs, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails...

Image
That is what little boys like to collect! We now are the proud owners of a pure white dove, courtesy of Levi and Myles and my ruggedly handsome, yet sensitive husband Ron.( Umm, where did that come from, this is what I get for leaving my blog post up for a minute and walking away from it). Last week, it was a baby cottontail rabbit. The same day the rabbit was discovered, they also tried to house an enormous bull frog(toad). Then before that it was a pigeon. My kids seem to think we are animal rescue clinic. Myles caught the pigeon and it was hurt, he nursed it back to health and set it free. My nephew, Terraine, caught the frog. The next morning it was MIA, and the only one that was near it at the time was Ashley, she must have felt sorry for the poor creature and set him free. The rabbit wasn't so fortunate :(. Being a wild rabbit it wasn't used to being held, and with so many children wanting to hold the little critter, I think it might have had heart failure or something. T

Happy Father's Day!

To my dear sweet husband, Happy Father's Day! You are an incredible daddy and husband, and I love you! I am blessed to have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom, for that I am thankful to you. You work hard for your family and we appreciate you. Levi, Myles, Elle, and Ashley Jean, say "I love you and Happy Father's Day Daddy!" Also a great big Happy Father's Day to my Grandpa Norm! You are precious to me and my family and we love you very much. Hope your day is blessed! To my little brother Jeremy, I love to see you with your boys. You are such a wonderful daddy to them. I can't wait for you and Dani to have more kids!!!! There was a time in my life when Father's Day didn't hold a special meaning to me. From the age of five until fourteen, I was among the many fatherless children. Not that it mattered too much when I was young, but as I got older, I realized how important a father could be. The Father/Daughter dates, someone who could explain boys

School's out! Summer's here!!!

Ok, now on to the rest of my life! School's out, summer's here, time to relax. Yeah right! That is how it used to be. I remember when I was a kid( a long time ago), the day school got out until the day school started in September, it meant freedom. Freedom from schoolwork, from getting up early, going to bed early, from any rigorous schedule we had. Now it seems as if there is no break and no summer vacation. Every kids school schedule is different, year around, traditional, traditional with summer school, where is the break??? Well, we aren't going to follow the rigorous schedule all summer long, we are gonna have fun and sleep in if we want, or stay up late, or play outside all day, whatever we do, we are going to have a summer vacation. So now that I've said that, does anyone have any good ideas or suggestions to make it a fun summer? I have a few ideas rolling around in this brain of mine, but I can use some more! My kids are pretty simple, they like to play outside

The Wonderful World of Bible Quizzing

We, The Rock Church, were honored to host the Southwestern Summer Invitational for this year. In this tournament, we had four teams, all of which came from our church. The break down was: Sac 1: Delaney and Darilyn Reighard, Sac 2: Karlee Horton, Katrina Ezell, and Levi Marquez(my son of course) Sac 3: Josh Gideons, Riley Madsen, and Oriana Pelton, Sac 4: Isabelle Noriega, Cali Madsen, Rainy Madsen, Kayla Horton, and Myles Marquez(my other son). Ironically, that is exactly what order of place they took as well. It was a very good tournament, and Levi's team went undefeated until the very last game. This is the beginner division which includes ages 5 to 8. These little guys(and gals) will know 184 verses by the next tournament which is in July. Most adults don't know that many verses!!! Not only do they know them, but you can ask them one word in a verse and they can locate it and quote it! Throughout this year, they are learning some very important principles, for example, the

This is the Life!

Image
This is the Life, its where I wanna be, living from center of a heart that's free! Recognize those lyrics? Any Phillips, Craig, and Dean fans out there? I love PCD, yes I am old, yes I have been to their concerts and I would go again! There are some artists that can write songs that stick with you, and this is one of them. The life I live is a choice and it is the only choice. When we have services like the one we had Tuesday night, it is confirmation that we are living the best life! Below is a picture of my boys, they are getting a refilling of the Holy Ghost. I couldn't think of a better place for them to be. Proverbs 22:6 says, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. I want this to be a way of life for my kids, it is the only life that matters eternally and that is the most important thing! Thanks Aunt Tabby for the picture!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Image
I know, we are all busy, and that is a lame excuse, but I am finally gonna post again! We have been busy with school, quizzing, weddings, family in town.....all which we enjoy thoroughly! Right kids? Well, we are finally done with school for the year! Whew! Being a homeschooling mommy(and loving it), it is work for me too. It is such a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the school year when your kids are done and you look back and realize, they were really learning! I love home school! We are so blessed to have this option and I pray everyday that we will be able to continue. We are also trying to get ready for our next quiz tournament which the Rock church is hosting. Levi is my only one quizzing in this tournament, and he will know 151 verses by next week! Myles is doing good, he has memorized about 70 verses, not enough to qualify for this tournament. That is ok though, he is only 6! I have discovered, in working with Levi, that I have a pretty good memory myself. We are workin

Make your own Lemonade!

Many of you are familiar with the saying "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Being an optimist myself, I love that little quote. In this life you have the choice to be positive or negative. Things become so much easier when you have a positive attitude and outlook on life. My Bishop's wife has a saying, " Your attitude determines your altitude." It has become increasingly difficult for people to look on the brighter side of things. A friend sent me an email today and I thought I would share it with you. Enjoy! Lemons and Sugar 1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for. 2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way. 3. The reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you. 4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you. 5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep. 6. You mean the world to s

God Bless the USA! We have a dear friend serving in Iraq, in the United States Air Force. For those of you who know Nolan Corbitt, this post is for him. If you want to post a comment to him, I am sure he would appreciate it. Nolan, we want you to know how much we miss you and we appreciate your service to our country. We are praying for you continually, for God's protection and strength to be with you. We know God will bring you safely home. In the meantime, we will keep you posted on all that is happening here, and keep you informed on what is going on in our crazy world. We love you! Don't worry about Krista, she will be well taken care of! Levi, Myles, Elle and Ashley Jean say "hi" and they love you! Everyone, except for Ashley, is just trying get done with school. The boys are slowwwwly working on their verses (it's like pulling teeth) but we'll get it done! We are gonna go to Aden's first birthday party and take lots of pictures and send them to you

Mother's Day

Image
Mother's day is a special day to honor the most important person in your life! I want to take a moment to say something about my mommy. First, she looks more like my sister than my mom. Second, she spoils my kids more than she ever spoiled me. Third, I wouldn't have it any other way. Being a mom myself, I now realize some very important things. Like, I will never again have a full night's sleep, my food is not my own, my clothing was made to be used as napkins, and my house will be clean (after my children are grown). The most important thing for me is to raise my children to Love God, Love the Word of God, Love the man of God, and the house of God. Fortunately for me, this is also what my mother taught me. Thank you Mom, you are a blessing in my life and I am honored to say you are my mother! I Love You, Happy Mother's Day. Now for all the other mothers in my life, if I began to name them all, I would leave one out. So to just name a few, My Bishop's wife, Sis. Wil

Take time to smell the flowers!

Image
This is my sweet Ashley Jean! We were leaving the baseball game(more on that later) and she said "I'm gonna fell the flowers" So I decided it was a perfect photo opportunity. She has a little lisp when she talks and all her "sp's" and "sm's" are "f's". So therefore, I am very fecial! :) So about the baseball game, well this year both my boys are playing and they are on opposite teams. This makes things a little more complicated when they play each other. Last night for example, was one of those games. The final score was 23 to 4, the red team won. Levi is on red, Myles is on blue. Fortunately, Myles is just out there to have fun and as long as he is with his friends, all is well. Levi, however, is a little more sensitive. But since his team won, he was able to gloat a little. He did hit a home run, and I screamed and jumped up from my chair(isn't that what a mom is supposed to do?). Anyhow, it is so much fun to watch all the l

Oh the things we do as kids!

ok, so my dear friend, Joleen Tanner, calls me yesterday, laughing. She says" hey I thought of us today!" She listens to KFBK online at work and when she opened the page, there was a picture of NKOTB. For those of you who don't know who that is, it's New Kids on the Block. They were popular in the late 80's and early 90's. Well guess what? They, like every other band that started as kids, are making a comeback! I'm not sure why they think they will be better the second time around, because they weren't very good the first time! Although I have to admit I was a huge fan, well as big of a fan as you can be when you are a pentecostal kid! Joleen and I thought they were just something, they were soooo cute! LOL! Now it's hilarious to think of it, the hidden posters behind our bedroom door, we couldn't buy the tapes(yes, tapes!) so we copied their songs off the radio, and if we happened to have a friend from school who had their music we would borro

We went to the Folsom zoo yesterday. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time! The zoo is kinda small, but it has quite a few animals. Of course Ashley had the best time and it was hilarious watching her get excited over the animals. The others, Hope(my niece), Levi, Myles and Elle, were some what entertained, but got bored quickly. When you've been to a zoo like the San Francisco zoo, not many small city zoos can compare. Stacie and I just like getting out of the house!!!

Well, I've finally done it!

I am officially in the blogger world! I said I'd never do this, but it isn't for me. I am doing this for family and friends, especially those that don't get the privilege of living near me! (Mom and Dad) I am actually excited because now I don't have to spend hours trying to send pictures through my email, my family can see updated pictures of the most beautiful children in the world, instantly! So come join us in our exciting journey through life, where we will laugh, sometimes cry, but most of all, live everyday to the fullest. ;)
