LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!

Image
It is snowing here in Wenatchee, and this is the very first time in my life I have lived where it snows. It is beautiful but really cold. I'm sure I'll acclimate soon, and by that time it'll probably be gone. :( . Only thing is I can't see my mountains right now.

Happy Birthday Elle Belle, (oh, and Happy 14 years, Babe!)

Image
To my super fun, wonderful, sassy, none quite like her, adorable daughter, Elle. Have a splendiferous 8th birthday! I love you to the moon and back, infinity and beyond!!! And to my marvelous hubby of 14 years, (who without I wouldn't have the said 8 year old daughter or any other child of mine), Happy Anniversary! Te amo mucho xoxo!

Happy Birthday Ashley Jean the Jelly Bean Queen!

Five years ago today, my precious Ashley Jean was born. What a blessing she is! Her happiness is contagious! Her smile is infectious! My little princess, I love you with all my heart!

Different State, Different Rules! UGH!!

The first day of school is approaching rapidly, though not rapidly enough for me! We left California in July, but school was out the end of May. Washington is a little different, we start school in September here. This makes for a very llllooooonnnngggg summer! Great for kids, not so great for mom's who have exhausted their resources in the entertainment department. September first, Levi, Myles, and Elle will go back to school! *whoo hoo, jumping up and down*. However, there is a definite glitch in the Washington State School system! (Do you hear me all you school district officials?) Their cut off date for kindergarten is August 31st. This would be fine except my sweet little almost 5 year old, who asked for a backpack to go to school on her FOURTH birthday, won't be 5 until 8 days after school begins! How do you tactfully tell your child, who is obviously ready for school, that she has to wait one more YEAR? So to all you School District Officials, that read my blog, though

Dishwashing soap vs. DishWASHER soap: The results

Image
My dutiful husband decided to do the dishes today! Bless his heart! However, the soap he decided to use was Dish Washing Soap not the Dishwasher soap normally intended for dishwashers. Here are some pictures, take my advice, continue to use dishwasher detergent!

Greetings from the Great Northwest!

Since the last time I blogged, many things have happened. I will condense the last few months into a couple paragraphs. To answer the ultimate question of where I am, I am in Wenatchee, Wa. Where in the world is that you ask? Smack in the middle of Washington, two hours from Spokane and two hours from Seattle. (Look on a map if you don't believe me). Next question, Why are you there? The answer is simple: God. Oh, there other little reasons, but it would take a book to explain. Last, How long will you be there? The answer: God knows! Sorry, can't be any simpler than that. My husband, through much prayer and starvation fasting, informed me on June 25th, that we would be moving to Wenatchee, Wa. the following weekend. So, with the wonderful help of friends and family, we packed our house, four children, and left on July 3rd, to a place my husband had not even been to. He arrived on July 4th, while I took about a week and a half and went to my parents with our kids. He got us se

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

To all the wonderful mommies, have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day! (Did I get it right, Danielle?) lol! If you want to know what it means, according to Wikipedia it means, "The roots of the word have been defined as follows: super- "above", cali- "beauty", fragilistic- "delicate", expiali- "to atone", and docious- "educable", with the sum of these parts signifying roughly "Atoning for educability through delicate beauty." When you figure that out, will you clue me in? Thanks! Have an awesome day!

Wrapping up the week

Image
As this week slides to a close, I sit here thinking, "What did I accomplish?" Not much really. Here are a few highlights of the week: My kids had try outs for their up and coming musical "Father Knows Best" Open House was Thursday Night, so the whole family had to go out to see what Myles and Elle have accomplished this year in school, we even took a tour of the kindergarten class for Ashley, who by the way is more than ready to go to school. Levi and Myles' baseball team is undefeated and they play their final game tomorrow. Yay! Levi and Myles! I decided to start a business and I am completely overwhelmed with all that it entails! I'll keep you posted as to what it is and my new blog/website that Stacie is designing.  There are probably a million other little things that took place but for now here are a few pics from the week... pics 1&2: Ashley found a spot of sunlight and took a nap. pic 3: French Braids at last! pic 4: Elle & Ash cleaning kit

Oh to be a kid!!!

Image
It is such a beautiful day but unfortunately the laundry, dishes, and in fact my entire house is screaming "Please clean me!" So I handed some bubbles and chalk to the girls, and sent them into the backyard. The boys are out front riding bikes, and most likely pestering our neighbors! I am tackling this house and listening to Francesca Battisteli, (oh the life!) wishing all the while I had a maid! I'd love to be outside, drinking sweet tea, and blowing bubbles. So I decided to sneak out there and see what fun they were having...shhh..don't tell anyone I was slacking! This is what I found: Elle blowing bubbles, really, really big bubbles, and they had traced each other with chalk. (crime scene? not sure?) but they were laughing and enjoying each other, *sigh* , I want to be a little kid again!!!

Beautiful, Beautiful

I love this song! For all of us who have experienced the unending grace and mercy of Jesus, we are becoming beautiful through Him!

Francesca Battistelli - Beautiful [with lyrics]

The Creation (a poem)

I found this poem today, I thought it was a beautiful account of  our Creator in the process of creating the world.      by James Weldon Johnson And God stepped out on space, And he looked around and said: I'm lonely-- I'll make me a world. And far as the eye of God could see Darkness covered everything, Blacker than a hundred midnights Down in a cypress swamp. Then God smiled, And the light broke, And the darkness rolled up on one side, And the light stood shining on the other, And God said: That's good! Then God reached out and took the light in his hands, And God rolled the light around in his hands Until he made the sun; And he set that sun a-blazing in the heavens. And the light that was left from making the sun God gathered it up in a shining ball And flung it against the darkness, Spangling the night with the moon and stars. Then down between The darkness and the light He hurled the world; And God said:

Interesting comment regarding Earth Day

Today when I checked my email, I found a comment left for my blog, and this is how it read: Very cute! (the skirt that is) But why would we want to observe a day that was started by a killer? And furthermore is observed by tree huggers and mother earth worshippers? I am "The Heretic" and I approve this message. When I clicked on the blog link, it was private, so I have no idea who this is. But instead of responding, I decided to see if there was some truth to what they said. This is what I found out about Earth Day: click here . This will take you to another blog with some information, and if you click here it will take you to Wikipedia. No where did I read anything about it being "started by a killer" and if you find this information, will you please inform me? And as far as the statement that it "is observed by tree huggers and mother earth worshippers", what do you think? My philosophy is that you clean up what you mess up, use only what you ne

Earth Day!

Image
There are many ways to celebrate Earth Day! If you hop on over to my dear friend, Javawn's blog , you will read one way in which to recycle or reuse what we already have here. I took her advice recently and made a skirt for Elle. I am still working on it, because I want to find something cute to add to it. But I found a pair of little girls jeans (at a thrift store) and some chiffon (I think) fabric (at the same thrift store) and put them together. So what do you think? Mind you, it isn't finished....

Good Morning, Aunt Paula!!!

Image
This post is done especially for my dear Aunt Paula, who by the way is one of my faithful readers. She called me on Friday, wondering why I haven't updated my blog. So of course, I had my excuses reasons, and since I love my aunt so much, I felt it was time to quit being lazy and post. For some reason I am unable to upload my pictures to photobucket, rock you, etc. Not sure what is going on but I'm investigating. In the meantime, I will just post a few current pictures. We love you, Aunt Paula, and we are looking forward to the next time we see you! To all my other faithful readers, we love you too! :) Yes, Ashley has a ton of candy in her mouth in this pic!

Rhoads School Field Trip

Image
Today I was fortunate enough to join Myles aka Roscoe, on a field trip to the Rhoads School in Elk Grove. This school was founded in 1872 and when they went today it was as if it were March 15, 1893. All the children had names of former students, they had a real docent, and they had to dress and act the part. Right down to their lunch! For today, Myles became Roscoe and his friend Brandon was Virgil. Here are a few pictures of their day, notice the first picture of the day shows how happy he was to wear knickers! This was the one and only time "Roscoe" let his suspenders show. He kept his wool jacket zipped up the entire time, even though the temperature hit about 70! I wasn't able to be there the first half of school, but I got there at lunch and it was so cute to see the kids eating out of their baskets and tin pails. After lunch they had play time with stilts, marbles, jump rope, and hoops and sticks. They worked on penmanship with real quill pens, they read out of an

Headband Giveaway!!!

Check out my cousin Stacie's blog by clicking here . You may win an adorable headband!

So you've been waiting....

patiently and not so patiently...hehehe :). As I stated before, I am not pregnant, and especially not with TWINS!!! lol! I love all the comments I've been getting. Now let me preface by saying, you may not be as excited as I am, but it will make you smile to know that I am happy. (I think, I hope we are good enough friends for that). So now for the big news...My cousin, my friend, my kids' second mother, etc.. IS MOVING BACK TO CALIFORNIA!!!!! Yes, you read it right, Stacie~Lynne Abigayle Wyatt will be here in less than a month, and for good! I am so happy, my heart is doing flip-flops upon flip-flops (my body would join if it wasn't so old). I have been in California my entire life, and most all my family started out living here too. However, over a period of about two years, they all left! So, about four years ago, my dear cousin, Clayton, came back and lived with us until he got married a few months ago. Now my uncle is here, and my aunt Sherry and Stacie are on their

I am sooo HAPPY!!!!

I can't say exactly why yet, but in the week to come, I will reveal.....

"Rock Solid Love"

Image
My friend, Stephanie, is doing a heart project on her blog, you can see it here . No, I am not going to start one too, but I thought I would post this since it is the appropriate month to do so. Levi and Elle have collected a few rocks for me that are in the shape of a heart. One of them is a little lopsided but hey, it's a rock. So here is my contribution to Stephanie's Heart Project, though my photography skills wane in comparison to hers, enjoy!

Student of the Month awarded to the girl with the missing tooth!

Image
I know I already posted once today but I just can't help myself when it comes to my kids. Last week, Elle lost one of her front top teeth, and I think she looks adorable(not to mention extremely brave, she let her daddy pull it out). Then today she received an award for Student of the Month. She wouldn't really cooperate for a picture so Jadyn was trying to help her. Here are a few pictures: (the last one is what Myles does when it's time to do homework, notice the word?)

Kreativ Blogger Award!

Image
Today I received a nomination for the Kreativ Blogger award from Mary Ginty on Classic Mary Moments . If you haven't been to her blog, you are missing out, check it out here: http://classicmarymoments.blogspot.com/ . She is hilarious, insightful, inspiring, delightful, and I could go on. What is funny, is I've never even met her. But it doesn't matter, I feel like I know her. And one day soon, I hope to meet her in person. If what I've read from her blog is true (and I am sure it is), she is one AWESOME lady! Of course, I had to go to her blog to figure out what I was supposed to do with this nomination. Most of the time my blog is about my kids or other things happening in their life. This time I get to talk about myself! I am so excited! Lol!  My hair is Naturally Curly... despite the rumors that circulated when I was a child, my mom never permed my hair. When I was around 12 my hair changed and became very curly. There were those that thought my mom was secretly p

"Here comes the joy!"

This past year has been, well, let's just say interesting. Ok, interesting doesn't really sum it up, but I don't want to unload on you all. We are in revival right now, with Bro. and Sis. Wells (think that is the right spelling) and we've had some incredible services. There is never a dull service at The Rock Church though, but somehow it has been different. The only way I can describe it is to say it feels like the "old" Rock Church. Some may understand that, others will wonder. Tonight was no exception, the presence of God moved in a beautiful way. Towards the end of the service, I sat there thinking, "I don't want to move or leave this atmosphere." Though we've been wounded, as a body we are still united and standing, and God is moving in our midst. While still sitting there, a song came to me that our pastor and a few of the men used to sing, and all I can remember of the words is "It looks like I can feel the breaking of day, oh the

Wolves, and an old, wise Indian

Image
The Two Wolves One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that  Goes on inside people. He said, 'My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace , love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. The grandson thought about it for a minute And then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?' The old Cherokee simply replied,   ' The one you feed  .'

Novice Tournament 2010

Image
Today we had our Novice Tournament, at our church, for bible quizzing. For those you who are not familiar with bible quizzing, the Novice tournament is for the novice quizzers in the junior and beginner division. This is only within our church. We had five teams, each with two quizzers, except one team had three quizzers. They all did a fabulous job, and ultimately our church won! My little Elle~Belle was on Jacob Bolding's team and they took first place!! I am one proud momma! The individual trophies went to Jacob Bolding at first place, Booker Lewis in second place, Elle Marquez in third, Winston Jones in fourth, and Kristina Ezell in fifth. Jacob and Elle's team went undefeated and in one quiz they both quizzed out! Yay!! For Jacob and Elle and all our awesome bible quizzers, this is going to be a terrific year!

Princess La Nae and Fairy Princess Ashley (I think?)

Image
I thought this picture was pretty funny but what happened prior to the picture was even more funny. Ashley got this tutu from Clayton and Sarah for Christmas, as well as the wand. She already had the tiara and wings, so she decided to dress up. So of course, La Nae, wanted to dress up too. She wanted to wear a tutu also, so Ashley showed her the other one we have, she wasn't satisfied. She wanted the one Ashley was wearing. Well Ashley was not easily swayed, even with the bribe of candy. After a few minutes, I heard La Nae starting to get real upset. Ashley  went and got the Cinderella dress and told her, "could you just wear this and be a princess?" I laughed and then I realized La Nae wasn't falling for it. So I told her she was a beautiful princess and I needed a picture of her and Ashley. She finally agreed as long as she could wear the sunglasses! (According to Ashley, princesses don't wear sunglasses, I told her this princess could wear them if she wanted to
