This is the Life!

This is the Life, its where I wanna be, living from center of a heart that's free! Recognize those lyrics? Any Phillips, Craig, and Dean fans out there? I love PCD, yes I am old, yes I have been to their concerts and I would go again! There are some artists that can write songs that stick with you, and this is one of them. The life I live is a choice and it is the only choice. When we have services like the one we had Tuesday night, it is confirmation that we are living the best life! Below is a picture of my boys, they are getting a refilling of the Holy Ghost. I couldn't think of a better place for them to be. Proverbs 22:6 says, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. I want this to be a way of life for my kids, it is the only life that matters eternally and that is the most important thing!

Thanks Aunt Tabby for the picture!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

I know, we are all busy, and that is a lame excuse, but I am finally gonna post again! We have been busy with school, quizzing, weddings, family in town.....all which we enjoy thoroughly! Right kids? Well, we are finally done with school for the year! Whew! Being a homeschooling mommy(and loving it), it is work for me too. It is such a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the school year when your kids are done and you look back and realize, they were really learning! I love home school! We are so blessed to have this option and I pray everyday that we will be able to continue.
We are also trying to get ready for our next quiz tournament which the Rock church is hosting. Levi is my only one quizzing in this tournament, and he will know 151 verses by next week! Myles is doing good, he has memorized about 70 verses, not enough to qualify for this tournament. That is ok though, he is only 6! I have discovered, in working with Levi, that I have a pretty good memory myself. We are working in Galatians and Ephesians, and I know most of the verses!
Then last weekend we had another wedding at our church, I think it is a trend. :) Courtney Ayers and Luke James got married and Elle was a flower girl. She looked so adorable too! The night of the rehearsal, Elle decided she wasn't gonna walk down the aisle. This happened to be five minutes before the rehearsal began. If anyone knows Elle, she is into shock value, she likes to get a reaction out of people. So being the wise mommy, I said "Oh thats really sad, because I don't think there is anyone that could fit your dress." And then I remembered, there was someone, so I said to her, "You know what, (and I named the little girl), could definitely fit your dress so I'll call her mom." She looked at me and "No!" and then she said "anyway, I was only kidding!" I didn't have any problems after that getting her to comply.
So now I think we are caught up to last night. We had another baseball game in which both my boys played. If you remember from before, they are on opposite teams, Myles is blue and Levi is red. They played a really good game, Levi and Myles both playing pitcher. Red ended up winning, but Blue has been improving and you can see it in all the little boys, they are gaining more confidence and they are understanding the game so much better, they have their Coach to thank for that, Thanks Gene! The highlight for my boys though was that Daddy got to be there and Grammy, Auntie Lu, and Stacie, All in one night! Because of Ronnie's work schedule he hasn't been able to be at any of their games, so they were excited about that. All week Levi has been planning on Grammy being able to watch his game, knowing she was going to be in town, I think he thinks she came specifically for that reason.

Make your own Lemonade!

Many of you are familiar with the saying "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Being an optimist myself, I love that little quote. In this life you have the choice to be positive or negative. Things become so much easier when you have a positive attitude and outlook on life. My Bishop's wife has a saying, " Your attitude determines your altitude." It has become increasingly difficult for people to look on the brighter side of things. A friend sent me an email today and I thought I would share it with you. Enjoy!

Lemons and Sugar

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don’t even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you receive. Forget the rude remarks.

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I’m here than a whole truckload when I’m gone.

Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they are always there.

Happiness keeps you Sweet,

Trials keep you Strong,

Sorrows keep you Human,

Life keeps you Humble,

Success keeps you Glowing,

But Only

God keeps you Going!

And remember……

When life hands you Lemons, ask for Sugar and call me!

Mother's Day

Mother's day is a special day to honor the most important person in your life! I want to take a moment to say something about my mommy. First, she looks more like my sister than my mom. Second, she spoils my kids more than she ever spoiled me. Third, I wouldn't have it any other way. Being a mom myself, I now realize some very important things. Like, I will never again have a full night's sleep, my food is not my own, my clothing was made to be used as napkins, and my house will be clean (after my children are grown). The most important thing for me is to raise my children to Love God, Love the Word of God, Love the man of God, and the house of God. Fortunately for me, this is also what my mother taught me. Thank you Mom, you are a blessing in my life and I am honored to say you are my mother! I Love You, Happy Mother's Day.
Now for all the other mothers in my life, if I began to name them all, I would leave one out. So to just name a few, My Bishop's wife, Sis. Wilson and my Pastor's wife Sis. Young. The impact you have made and are still making in my life, is amazing. I want to follow your wisdom and direction because I see the proof in your own family. Thank you for loving us! To my friends who sometimes treat me (lovingly) as your daughter, Dawn, Denise, Becca, Javawn, my aunt Sherry and all the others, you know who you are! Thank you, I love you! Happy Mother's Day! All you other mommies out there, you are doing a fabulous job raising those babies. I love you!
This Mother's Day was a little difficult because I had two less cards to buy. Ronnie's grandma, who we all lovingly referred to her as Gram, passed away in February. In October of 2007, my grandma passed away. It didn't hit me though, until I actually went to get all the cards, how much I really miss them. Though I didn't get to see either one of them very often, there is still a ache in my heart from missing them. The saying " You don't know what you've got till it's gone" is very true, so please take time for the ones you love, because you don't know how much time you have with them.
Lastly, I want to wish my sister Sarah and my sis-in-laws (Paula, Michelle, and Danielle) a Happy Mother's Day too! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the lives of my nieces and nephews. I love them and you a ton!

Take time to smell the flowers!

This is my sweet Ashley Jean! We were leaving the baseball game(more on that later) and she said "I'm gonna fell the flowers" So I decided it was a perfect photo opportunity. She has a little lisp when she talks and all her "sp's" and "sm's" are "f's". So therefore, I am very fecial! :)
So about the baseball game, well this year both my boys are playing and they are on opposite teams. This makes things a little more complicated when they play each other. Last night for example, was one of those games. The final score was 23 to 4, the red team won. Levi is on red, Myles is on blue. Fortunately, Myles is just out there to have fun and as long as he is with his friends, all is well. Levi, however, is a little more sensitive. But since his team won, he was able to gloat a little. He did hit a home run, and I screamed and jumped up from my chair(isn't that what a mom is supposed to do?). Anyhow, it is so much fun to watch all the little guys, they are all winners in my eyes!

Oh the things we do as kids!

ok, so my dear friend, Joleen Tanner, calls me yesterday, laughing. She says" hey I thought of us today!" She listens to KFBK online at work and when she opened the page, there was a picture of NKOTB. For those of you who don't know who that is, it's New Kids on the Block. They were popular in the late 80's and early 90's. Well guess what? They, like every other band that started as kids, are making a comeback! I'm not sure why they think they will be better the second time around, because they weren't very good the first time! Although I have to admit I was a huge fan, well as big of a fan as you can be when you are a pentecostal kid! Joleen and I thought they were just something, they were soooo cute! LOL! Now it's hilarious to think of it, the hidden posters behind our bedroom door, we couldn't buy the tapes(yes, tapes!) so we copied their songs off the radio, and if we happened to have a friend from school who had their music we would borrow their stuff. Awwww..what memories! So I want to know, are Joleen and I the only ones in this boat? Who liked NKOTB, or any other band or artist in the 80's that is embarrassing to admit?

Just another outing!

We went to the Folsom zoo yesterday. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time! The zoo is kinda small, but it has quite a few animals. Of course Ashley had the best time and it was hilarious watching her get excited over the animals. The others, Hope(my niece), Levi, Myles and Elle, were some what entertained, but got bored quickly. When you've been to a zoo like the San Francisco zoo, not many small city zoos can compare. Stacie and I just like getting out of the house!!!

Well, I've finally done it!

I am officially in the blogger world! I said I'd never do this, but it isn't for me. I am doing this for family and friends, especially those that don't get the privilege of living near me! (Mom and Dad) I am actually excited because now I don't have to spend hours trying to send pictures through my email, my family can see updated pictures of the most beautiful children in the world, instantly! So come join us in our exciting journey through life, where we will laugh, sometimes cry, but most of all, live everyday to the fullest. ;)
