Happy Thanksgiving

There are many things I could blog about right now but the one thing that is on my mind is Thanksgiving!! I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!!! It is my favorite holiday! Are you surprised Christmas isn't my favorite? I love Christmas too, but I don't like all the stress that comes with it. As a child, it is the best, but unfortunately as an adult reality sets in and it isn't quite as fun anymore. Anyhow enough grumbling, onto Thanksgiving. Everything about Thanksgiving makes me happy, the food, the family, the food, the friends I am thankful for, the food, the weather, the food, going to Mom's, the food, no gifts to buy, the food, the leftovers, the food, shopping the day after, the food, the decorations(earth tones are my favorite colors), the food, apple hill, the food! So you see why I love it so much. There are so many things to be thankful for! Pumpkin pie, turkey, stuffing, olives, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, homemade yeast rolls, ham, sweet potatoes with marshmellows, lemon meringue pie, apple pie, chocolate pie, pumpkin roll(if you haven't had this yet, you haven't lived!), fudge, cream cheese pie, cheesecake. This is not an exhaustive list of what can be for Thanksgiving dinner. Your Thanksgiving dinner my be different, but it doesn't matter I'd still be happy, I LOVE FOOD!! I am not picky, it is much easier to tell you what I don't like because the list is very short than to tell you what I like. This is the one time each year I know everything is homemade (which is what I prefer) because I don't make it all, my mom does!! I love homemade food, but I'm not the eager beaver when it comes to cooking. I love to bake but cooking is not as fun for me. With baking you can create some really cool, tasty desserts. When I cook, I seem to loose my imagination. So it is wonderful to go to Mom's and she just tells me what to do, then we put it out and everyone "ohs and ahhs" and my mom says "Kim made that!" they all smile and tell me what a wonderful job I did, and I just say "Thank you", and pretend like I crafted it myself. My mom never lets on either, isn't that so sweet of her? She just lets me shine and get all the glory, when really, she is the master mind! I'd do the same for my kids if they would just come in the kitchen and help!! I wish you all very blessed, fun-filled, food filled Thanksgiving! See you in December(when I will be rolling back in town), just in time to celebrate Christmas!
