Frogs, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails...

That is what little boys like to collect! We now are the proud owners of a pure white dove, courtesy of Levi and Myles and my ruggedly handsome, yet sensitive husband Ron.( Umm, where did that come from, this is what I get for leaving my blog post up for a minute and walking away from it). Last week, it was a baby cottontail rabbit. The same day the rabbit was discovered, they also tried to house an enormous bull frog(toad). Then before that it was a pigeon. My kids seem to think we are animal rescue clinic. Myles caught the pigeon and it was hurt, he nursed it back to health and set it free. My nephew, Terraine, caught the frog. The next morning it was MIA, and the only one that was near it at the time was Ashley, she must have felt sorry for the poor creature and set him free. The rabbit wasn't so fortunate :(. Being a wild rabbit it wasn't used to being held, and with so many children wanting to hold the little critter, I think it might have had heart failure or something. The kids scared it stiff(literally). It was sad though, Levi cried. They get attached to these animals very quickly. Then this last weekend we went from catching animals to babysitting them. We got to keep Spanky, the Sargents cat. I am thankful it survived, Ashley thought it was a babydoll. She wrapped it in a blanket, carried it in a car seat, tried to give it a bottle, funny thing, it let her do it! Then Levi took it swimming, and you know what? The cat actually swam. Now I don't know if it was swimming to save its life or if he was enjoying it, but I decided to put a stop to it right away. Clayton and Ronnie even enjoyed having the cat here, I caught both of them playing with him, and to my surprise Ronnie wasn't even tormenting the little thing!

No need to worry about what to do for summer excitement with your kids! They seem to think you want to have a zoo! (: Have fun caring for your animal collection! (:
Hahah you had me laughing so hard. I think one of these days when our kids are grown we are going to have to get together and write a book about all of our little adventures, sayings, embarrassing moments, etc. It would probably be a #1 seller

Yvonne-I don't know what I was so worried about, they find many things to keep themselves entertained. Elk Grove needs a zoo right?
Danielle-a book! what an idea! I'm sure Elle can turn it into some sort of documentary for us too.
Nella Bean-life is definitely an adventure around here, Levi caught a garter snake today and I drew the line and sent the creepy reptile back to where he came from.
Carly-does it kinda remind you of when you girls were growing up? does baby powder ring a bell? LOL!

Stacie~ I think you are the inspiration behind many of my children's adventures. though it probably was a bit my fault for taking the boys to see the play of "Tom Sawyer", put too many ideas in their little heads! By the way, Ashley has been crying for you, every time she wakes up. Once she thought she lost you! she misses you tons snd so do I! love you more!
