Everyday wonders and beauty to behold!

I live in the great Northwest! I truly love it here because it is green all the time. And being that green is my favorite color (i.e. color of money), it is a natural fit for me. In addition, the fact that there are mountains, makes it all the more blissful. Now, you can say, "well, it rains all the time!" And you are correct! But how do you think it stays green? The rain doesn't bother me for the most part. I will admit, March of this year was miserable because we only had one day without rain. But we have had beautiful weather for the last few months.
Everyday that it is clear, as I leave the kids' school to drive home, I see the most beautiful site. This is what I see:
 Mt Hood. Now, I don't see it from this point of view because there are roads, this is a picture taken over in Hood River Valley (thank you, yahoo pics). Oh, but the majesty of this mountain is amazing! Looking at the mountain, as I drive home, makes me reflect on what a great and mighty God I serve and His wonders to behold! The beauty He has made for us to see is humbling yet inspiring! Today, I am thankful for the mountains, the trees, the flowers and the velvet green hills and even for the rain, Lord!

Why, thank you! But, alas, I cannot take credit. My cousin designed my blog. She actually had a business going for a while and still dabbles in it occasionally. I, fortunately, was a happy recipient of her services.
I checked out your site and it looks like a great start and nice flow! Keep up the great work and I'll be checking back to see the progress!

An anniversary, a birthday and a birth defect??

You are probably wondering what that is all about. Right?? Well, on Wednesday, Ashley came running into the house crying, not screaming, just crying. She had tripped over Zoey's (our dog) leash and scraped her arm. Not a big deal, no blood. However, on closer examination, I noticed a lump on her elbow, as if her arm was out of socket. Strange, I never noticed that before and she wasn't screaming out in pain. So, being the worrisome mom that I am, I called the doctor. Of course they said bring her in. So off to Kaiser we go, first to be seen by a doctor(who wasn't even going to do an x-ray until I persisted), then to Radiology for x-rays, back to the same doctor who was surprised there was actually a reason to do the x-ray. She then told me that her radius was not in the right place and it could be the result of an injury prior to that day or from birth(which would be considered a birth defect). Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig!!!

We arrived home late Sunday night after what seemed like a year away from home. (Actually it was a little over three weeks.) We left on the 7th of August at about 4 pm and drove to Grants Pass. We stayed the night there, getting up the next morning and continuing on to Portland. We got to Portland about 3pm, spent the evening hanging out at my brother's house and getting ready for the next day. Saturday the 9th, we celebrated my littlest nephew, Judah Milo Carlson's first birthday. His actual birthday is the 14th but for sake of family and friends we had the party that Saturday. My brother's church family came and then some of his family and some of my sister in laws family came. We bar-b-qued and played games, but mostly just talked. Then the next day was church. We went to church with them, they go to the Gleason's church in Oregon City. They are very sweet people. I love Sis. Gleason, she always has the kindest words to say.
