The Joy of Baseball

Baseball season started yesterday for my boys. But even before the first game, Levi already became a victim. While playing catch with a friend he was hit right between the eyes and now has a beautiful shiner, and is quite swollen. The first picture is the night of the hit and the second picture is from this morning. Quite a beauty isn't it? Daddy says "that is the sign of a true ball player." I say, he needs to be seen by a doctor. Wonder who will win this mini battle?

For once Ronnie and I agree. He's fine, he's a boy. Don't be such a girl about it!

P.S. He looks like a cross between Chris Bertram and Riley Madsen. HA! Don't ask how I see it, I just do.

Kim...I think he needs to see a doc. I had a similar looking nose when I was hit in the face with a metal chair during a fight in grade school. (I was an innocent bystander) Later, we found out my nose had been crushed and sometimes I get headaches still from it. I'd see a doc, but that's just me...
OH NO!!! He looks like he's been in a boxing match!! i vote for the dr...dont want to mess with the head...waaaay too much up there that could go wrong.

OK, for an update, his nose isn't broken, but his daddy won. Instead, his daddy talked to "Uncle Doug" who is apparently our resident doctor (or rather the scapegoat) and there are no signs of a broken nose. And actually I agree, because Levi has been able to move his nose around and touch the entire area without any difficulty, the entire time. Since he has also broken both arms and busted his chin open, I think he could probably tell me if something was wrong. However, the bleeding is a whole other issue. It is receding but I will take him in the second he tells me he has a headache. So far we've been fortunate. (Just a side note, Levi hates going to the dr. because he has had so many mishaps, crazy thing, he is usually the innocent one, his brother is the one who thinks of all the daring things to do and doesn't get hurt)For the record, Jessica, I'm not being a girl about it, I am a mommy!!!
