Friday evening was magical. Saturday evening was miserable. But I will start with Friday, Elle's violin concert. This was her first time on stage AND she memorized six songs. They did not use sheet music at all! She took piano lessons for nearly two years, so she is familiar with music/chords/notes/keys, but she wanted to learn violin. In October of 2010, yes, only 5 months ago, I signed her up with Voices of Performing Arts. For such a brief time playing, she is doing incredible. I believe when you have a passion for an instrument you will succeed. Or for anything, for that matter! Here are a few pictures from her debut: See her name? *GASP*, it's been over a week since my last posting! I am dreadfully sorry! I refuse to make excuses, instead I will just give you a new post! Ok, this is a little test. Writing has always been a passion of mine. In fact, an English professor, who also gave me a letter of recommendation, told me that I should go into the field of journalism. But I am completely aware of the fact that I am not the perfect writer. However, over the years, after a few English/writing classes, I have learned enough to express my thoughts well enough to be understood. Proper sentence structure, grammatical errors and run-on sentences seem to scream to me from the pages. This is one of the "pet-peeves" I have when it comes to online learning. Peers in my college courses type their posts as if they are texting. Extremely informal and cryptic. Now I don't mind so much when people do abbreviated texting, as my dear husband is very much known to do, for example: "wen u b home?" Sigh, I have just learned to respond and go on. Or those of us on Twitter, trying to condense our thoughts, which could span the universe, into 140 characters! Really, twitter-pe...

There are times my household seems rather, well, boring. Not much happening. Going through the day without any hiccups or surprising events. Then we have days where everything happens at once. For instance, yesterday. It seemed like a normal day until after school. I picked the kids up from school and headed to the dentist. Levi had an appointment to have his sealants done. We get there and they discovered he had a small cavity! Now, this may not be a big deal to others, but he has never had a cavity. That meant he had to be numbed. He was totally not expecting this! But, he was a trooper. No whining or complaining. He handled it like a pro! Though I hope he doesn't have to do it again. Then we finally get home (after a quick stop for slushies at sonic for 1/2 price, score!). Kids worked on homework, played for a time, then I started working on dinner. While I was doing that, I decided to call my favorite Aunt Paula . She called me on my birthday but our schedules conflict, so ...

This term has been a bit stressful for me. I am taking an anatomy and physiology class (not 101 either), an algebra class and an anthropology class. Next term, my last term at the community college level (yay!), I will take my last algebra class, sociology, cultural anthropology and do an internship under a speech pathologist at my kids' school. I am totally excited yet a wee bit nervous. It is more than a full load, but I am determined to graduate. I just received my letter of acceptance from Liberty University, into their Bachelor's of Science program, yesterday. So this is it, time to move on :). But for now, this is where I am in my life: figuring out the quadratic formula, imaginary numbers, deciding whether we became bipedal due to heat stress or because we needed to reach into the trees for our food (trust me, I do not ascribe to this theory), and identifying the parts of the brain while examining sheep brains.
