No Limits!

No Limits is over and what a time we had. This week has flown by so fast but it has been awesome. I am looking forward to next year. I just want to say The Rock Church has the best of the best, the cream of the crop, bar none!!! From ministry to every saint that worked together to make this possible. You are awesome!!! Oh and by the way, the coffee shop and bookstore is fantastical!!! I love it!

I am now a college student!!

Ok, I am gonna brag a little! Normally, I only brag about my kids but this time I am gonna talk about myself. I am very excited and quite proud of myself, I am going back to school! I am into my second week of an online English class and I am loving it. I am learning new things as well as recalling stuff I learned in high school. After high school I went to Sierra River College, briefly (I think 3 semesters) then I got married and was busy working. Then my motherly time clock started ringing and we decided to start a family. Never thinking I would end up with four children! I've always known I wanted to go back to school, I've always loved school (except mornings were a little rough for me, just ask my mom). So anyhow, I thought I'd share my new adventure with you in hopes that you'd keep me in your prayers. I am a wife, a mother, a teacher(homeschool), a preschool teacher, and a student, and that is just the beginning! What a life!

Happy 5th Birthday Jacob Michael!!

Image
I haven't been real good about my blog lately but this is a celebration worth mentioning. Five years ago tomorrow (Jan. 25th), my little nephew, Jacob was born. With so many babies being born every day, why is this one so special? He is simply a miracle. At birth he weighed 1lb 12oz, and he was 14.7 in long, he was born just before 28 weeks gestation. It was a minute by minute situation, and God was with him every step of the way. I saw pictures first, and cried. Then I saw him in person and nearly cried again. I couldn't believe that something so small and frail could be alive. His little fingers could wrap around your entire pinky finger. His skin was transparent and you could see every little bone in his body. He had tubes in his mouth and nose. It was amazing! There was a beanie baby bear in his crib that was as big as he was. I still cry when I look at the pictures, God is so awesome. Jacob is alive and healthy today because God has a purpose and a plan for his life.

"Train up a child"

This is not just a cliche, it is scripture. And it may very well be one of the most used scriptures. On Tuesday night, my boys participated in their very first communion and foot washing service. Some may think they are too young and don't understand the symbolism, and that may be true, but being that they both have the Holy Ghost and have been baptized, I thought it was time for them to take part. I explained to them what would happen and the reasoning behind it. I also asked them to examine their hearts to make sure they were heaven ready. They both seemed to understand and they both expressed desire to follow through. It was all going well until Ashley realized they had something in their hand that she didn't. She asked me what it was, and I told her. Here is how the conversation went.. Ashley: "I want grape juice too!" Me: "Well, honey you are still too young." Ashley: "Why I too young?" Me: "It's for after you get the Holy Ghost and ...

Soar like an Eagle!

While reading this morning, this passage stood out to me and I thought I would share. One of Satan's favorite employees is the "switchman." He likes nothing better than to sidetrack one of God's express trains, sent on some blessed mission and filled with the fire of a holy purpose. Something will come up in the pathway of an earnest soul, to attract its attention, and occupy its strength and thought. Sometimes it is a little irritation and provocation. Sometimes it is some petty grievance we stop to pursue or adjust. Very often, and before we are aware of it , we are absorbed in a lot of distracting cares and interests that quite turn us aside from the great purpose of our life. We may not do much harm, but we have missed our connection. We have gotten off the main line. Let these things alone. Let distractions come and go, but press forward steadily and irresistibly with your God-given task. The eagle flying in the upper air pays but little ...

Happy Thanksgiving

Image
There are many things I could blog about right now but the one thing that is on my mind is Thanksgiving!! I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!!! It is my favorite holiday! Are you surprised Christmas isn't my favorite? I love Christmas too, but I don't like all the stress that comes with it. As a child, it is the best, but unfortunately as an adult reality sets in and it isn't quite as fun anymore. Anyhow enough grumbling, onto Thanksgiving. Everything about Thanksgiving makes me happy, the food, the family, the food, the friends I am thankful for, the food, the weather, the food, going to Mom's, the food, no gifts to buy, the food, the leftovers, the food, shopping the day after, the food, the decorations(earth tones are my favorite colors), the food, apple hill, the food! So you see why I love it so much. There are so many things to be thankful for! Pumpkin pie, turkey, stuffing, olives, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, homemade yeast rolls, ham, sweet potatoes with marsh...
